Who We Are

Created Ministries is a 501c3 founded in 2020 by Mark and Dori Carpenter. The Carpenters serve on the Board of Directors alongside Brent Jones, Shea Polk, and Steven Scarcliff. Mark Carpenter serves as the CEO of Created Ministries since its beginnings.

We are created in Christ:
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

We live with hope:
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

May the Lord be magnified in all we do:
Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!” Psalm 40:16

Where It All Began

The journey to support and care for young people in need of a meaningful adult began when Mark met a young man who had recently aged out of foster care. This young man was given a thousand dollars, a “plan” for his future, and his case was closed, leaving him to navigate this plan on his own. After learning more of “J’s” story and gaining a small understanding of the heartbreaking realities of his life after foster care, Mark knew he must step in and help. Through this relationship and a little research, Mark and Dori began to understand that J’s story was more common than not. They began to see firsthand the isolation and desperation that lead these young people to less favorable alternatives for survival.  That was also when they knew God was calling them to serve this vulnerable population in ways beyond their means. God was establishing Created Ministries to help young people affected by foster care or homelessness to thrive with strong sense of belonging.

After more research and continued learning from other young people affected by foster care, a plan to help began to take shape. However, it became increasingly obvious that even with all the resources and help in place, nothing could replace family. Hearing from youth in foster care opened Mark and Dori’s eyes to better understand the importance of having at least one meaningful adult invested in a young person’s life. Therefore, Created Ministries aims to build a community of supportive adults eager to help young people affected by foster care and homelessness as they navigate independence. We believe everyone needs the stability of a secure home and the encouragement of at least one meaningful adult. It is our prayer that through these relationships and by caring for their basic needs, each one will know they are created in Christ, that God did not mess up when He created them, and that they will place their hope and trust in salvation through Jesus Christ.
